Welcome to the March Issue. New legislation affecting Scotland is another step closer to completion. The new Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act completed the consultation period on last week. A statement from Peter Peacock has defined the aim of the new bill as follow "The bill aims to create stronger, better system for supporting children's learning and their children's learning and their specific needs, and it will make a real difference to many young people in scotland . The concept of 'special educational needs' will be replaced by the concept of 'additional support needs'. The Act is expected to come into full effect in Autumn 2005.
Get back to De Beach with DeBug. Karen and Mike Deming of
Deming Designs, Inc in Florida have designed an innovative way to get round the difficulties of the stroll along the beach for the wheelchair user. The wheelchair, called De Bug is custom made and has lots of optional extras, we have also been told they can make a children's version.
Volunteers needed to support children
